Dark Horse Comics recently made an announcement regarding a new four-part comic series based on the Mass Effect universe. Titled Mass Effect: Invasion, it will take readers back to Omega.
The series will feature a story from Mass Effect lead writer Mac Walters, an original script from John Jackson Miller (Star Wars: Knight Errant) and art from Omar Francia (Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II). Invasion will take place after the events of Mass Effect 2 as Commander Shepard makes preparations for the comic battle. It won’t follow him/her however; instead it will follow the “Queen of Omega”, Aria T’Loak as she attempts to defend her territory from a new threat let loose on Omega by the pro-human organization, Cerberus.
“When I started collaborating with Dark Horse for Mass Effect: Invasion, my first choice was to base the story around Aria, one of my favorite characters from the series,” Mac Walters explained. “She was even more fun to write for in comics and has resulted in creating the most action-filled, intense Mass Effect comic to date.”
The first issue of Mass Effect: Invasion is expected to ship this October, which is the same month that the collection of the second Mass Effect comics which starred the Illusive Man (Evolution) releases. It will be available on October 19th, 2011.
For those of you that can’t get enough Mass Effect in your lives, you may want to look into this new series.
