According to FEAR Net, we all may be in for a nice surprise come season 3 of The Walking Dead. In a recent interview with series creator Frank Darabont, the site asked him about the character Michonne and when fans can expect to see her. The director replied with the following.

“When she [appears], she’s gonna rock your world. I can officially tell you Michonne is coming in the third season.”

In case you do not know, Michonne is possibly the most popular character in the graphic novel. Ever since The Walking Dead aired, fans had many questions concerning their favorite character and one of the biggest questions was, when are we getting Michonne?

If you don’t know who Michonne is, she is a katana wielding survivor of the zombie apocalypse and has impressive skills with the sword. Honestly, you have to read the graphic novels if you already haven’t because not only are they brilliant, but they include a lot of stuff that, so far, the series has yet to include.
Also during that interview, Darabont was asked, “Will Stephen King and Joe Hill still co-write a season 2 episode?”, in which he replied back:

“I’m keeping my fingers crossed. It’s just a matter of… They want to do it together. I’m proud to say that they’re both addicted fans of the show. In fact, Steve started harassing me by email, because I sent him the first one as soon as we had a lab pressing a disc. Like a decent Blu-ray. Then he started harassing me for the next one. Because Joe would drive up from wherever he lives, because he lives an hour away, and they’d sit and watch it together. [Laughs.] He’d say, “C’mon, where’s the next one?” “It’s in the lab, Steve. We’re still mixing the sound. I’ll get it to you. I promise.””

The question that was after that was, “Have they discussed possible scenarios for their episode with you?”, and he replied:

“No, we haven’t yet. We’ve literally just been waiting for their schedules, given that they’re pretty in-demand guys. Both of them. We’ve just been waiting for their schedules to mesh. For them to both be free at the same time. That’s the only thing that’s stopping it from happening. It’ll happen eventually, I’m sure.”

So there you have it, it is HIGHLY likely that Stephen King and Joe Hill will actually co-write a season two episode of The Walking Dead! It’s all a matter of everyone’s schedules lining up, which I hope and pray that they do – sooner rather than later.

Just imagine what Darabont, King and Hill (King’s son) can do with this brilliant zombie television show. Between Frank’s fantastic history with drama and Stephen and Joe’s legendary history in horror, we could be in for some real surprises and possibly the best episode of the series. Remember though, this is only if they are “both free at the same time” which is the “only thing that’s stopping it from happening”.

Either way, Darabont has struck gold with The Walking Dead, it’s one of television’s best shows and it has a very bright future ahead of it.
