Fox’s Fringe ended on a stunner of a cliffhanger last Spring with Peter (Joshua Jackson) seemingly blinked out of existence. When the cult sci-fi series returns in the fall, the central mystery to begin the season will be “Where is Peter Bishop?”

Over the weekend, Fox released a very brief teaser for the fourth season and it will no doubt leave fans going over these 10 seconds like conspiracy theorists examining the Zapruder film as they buzz over Peter’s fate. Slow it down near the end and you’ll see an image that will undoubtedly leave fans panting for more.

Fringe returns to Fox this fall, Friday, September 23rd.
