Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has signed a deal to stay on as show runner for seasons 5, 6 and 7 of FX’s biker drama. The show is currently only confirmed for a fifth season, which will air in September. But, if the show does move on past season five, which seems highly likely, Sutter will remain at the helm.
Sutter has revealed in the past that he hopes for the show to run seven seasons so it can complete the story arc. He broke the news about signing for three more seasons through his Twitter account.
“Closed my deal for 3 more years on SOA. no headlines, no pushed schedule, no stealing from paul. thank you FX and 20th for your generosity. The 3 year deal is for season 5, and then if we get picked up, for 6 &7. if there is more story to tell beyond that, then we’ll decide then.”
Hopefully, if everything goes according to plan for Sutter and his crew, Sons Of Anarchy will be around until at least 2014. Considering the fact that the show’s ratings and reviews have been soaring, with 2011 being its biggest year yet, I have no doubt in my mind that we’ll be seeing seven seasons of this superb series.
