Gang leader’s influencer daughter who flaunted piles of cash gets caught up in $25 million case

Flaunting money online can get you arrested.

A TikTok star known for posting videos of herself singing, dancing, and showing off her wealth has found herself at the center of a major FBI money laundering investigation. Michelle Jamileth Macías Peñarrieta, known online as Queen Michelle, was arrested alongside her mother in a case connected to her father’s criminal organization, according to The Sun.

Michelle is the daughter of José Adolfo Macías Villamar, known as Fito, the gang leader of Ecuador’s Los Choneros gang. He is currently serving a 34-year prison sentence for trafficking drugs and murder. Her social media accounts often showed stacks of cash, expensive cars, and luxury items.

Michelle, along with her mother, were expelled from Colombia and returned to Ecuador. Following Michelle’s arrest, her social media accounts were also taken down. It is suspected that the two were connected to a structure using shell companies to launder money linked to Los Choneros, El Colombiano reported.

The transactions were worth millions

Michelle also pursued a music career and made appearances in songs dedicated to her father. The arrest operation was supported by the Ecudarion authorities, along with the FBI.

The two women were roped into an FBI investigation when officers identified nearly $435,900 worth of financial movements through Michelle’s accounts. Her mother’s accounts reportedly showed around $1.3 million of income between 2020 and 2024 that she could not explain.

The case of the TikToker’s arrest involves more than $25 million allegedly generated through illegal activities. The women’s trial had reportedly been suspended while they were fugitives, and officials said they would be transferred to La Roca maximum-security prison.

According to the data released by the United States Sentencing Commission, there were 1,170 cases of money laundering in 2025, out of which 75% were U.S. citizens. The average sentence length for individuals sentenced for the offense was 69 months, while 90% of the offenders were sent to prison.

AML Network also reported that around $300 billion is laundered into the country every year, following which the country has tightened its anti-money laundering (AML) frameworks over the years. They further added that using shell companies and trusts is a common way used in the country for money laundering.
