A neighbor in Florida has escalated a tense confrontation with a Black woman by calling the name of a convicted killer during an argument on a front porch. The short video was shared on TikTok by @datgurlretta and captured the interaction, as reported by The Nerd Stash.
The white neighbor begins the exchange by ordering the woman filming to return to her home, saying, “Go back in your house before I call the cops.” The woman filming does not appear intimidated by the demand. Instead of backing down, she stands her ground and tells the neighbor to go ahead and call the police.
Instead of de-escalating, the neighbor says, “You know what? It is gonna be another Susan Lorincz.” The comparison lands hard, as Susan Lorincz was convicted in the shooting death of Ajike “AJ” Owens, a 35-year-old Black mother of four, in Ocala, Florida.
The neighbor was talking about a real woman who shot her neighbor through a door
Susan Lorincz fired a shot through her own locked front door after an argument involving children playing outside. She had complained to police about kids playing near her home for months before the shooting. In the caption, the creator urges viewers unfamiliar with Susan Lorincz to look her up and watch the Netflix documentary on the case.
Susan Lorincz attempted to claim self-defense, and State Attorney William Gladson said prosecutors lacked evidence of ill will to support a second-degree murder charge. However, she was ultimately convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 25 years in prison. The Netflix documentary The Perfect Neighbor later revisited the case largely through police bodycam footage.
The woman filming responds with a short acknowledgment and refuses to leave her porch despite repeated orders. When the neighbor insists that she has a right to sit on her own porch, the woman filming fires back that she has the same right. She then adds, “No, I will not go back inside my house.”
The video concludes with the neighbor eventually returning to her own home. The recording is only about 27 seconds long; however, the reference to Susan Lorincz has left viewers questioning its intent. The video also contains no physical violence. However, the remark has struck a nerve, as the Owens case began with a dispute between neighbors.
The video joins a string of TikTok videos showing neighbor disputes that turned on race, including a Florida HOA racial profiling incident and an alleged racist neighbor parking dispute. The video does not show whether police were ever called, as it ends before any officers could arrive.
