Zedd seems to have suffered a musical writer’s block since the release of last year’s True Colors. Rumors suggested that his February Aloe Blacc collaboration, “Candyman,” was more more than partly conceptualized by Los Angeles duo Grey – so at least he’s elected to credit them in their upcoming Hailee Steinfeld vehicle, “Starving.”
Steinfeld herself has uploaded videos this week of her singing the acapella track from the upcoming release to her Instagram account. The first of the two posts features the track’s soulful verse, and its chorus is captured in the second.

The videos aren’t the first preview of “Starving” to be made available by any the artists. Zedd brought Grey onstage during his performance at EDC Las Vegas to debut the track live, and more of its production elements can be heard in the following recording from the premiere:
HUGE thanks to @Zedd for having us out last night. So excited to share this new music with you all! pic.twitter.com/s7KVIa3Q7d

So, it looks like Hailee Steinfeld will be the next pop singer to attempt to use the EDM craze as a means of catapulting her career further. Although no release date has been announced for her collaboration with Zedd and Grey, it stands to reason that it will come out sooner rather than later.
