A Houston community is incandescent with rage today over a bizarre incident involving a Fuel Depot gas station employee and his behavior towards a 13-year-old boy.
According to the boy’s family and local reports, the middle school student dashed into the Fuel Depot on Bellfort Avenue in the Sunnyside area after school, pleading with the counter clerk to use the restroom.
Perhaps I don’t need to underline this, but there for the grace of god go all of us. And if you gotta go. You gotta go. The boy, doubtless to his horror, was told the bathroom was out of service. The boy then dashed behind the building to find some privacy where he was forced to do his business.
But the Fuel Depot clerk was watching. This moment of privacy was caught on the store’s surveillance cameras, including him using grass in a desperate attempt to clean himself up. For some insane reason, the clerk figured he should not only record this on his phone, but went on to show the footage to the other middle school kids who entered the store, reportedly telling them “look at his wee-wee”.
What is wrong with people?!
The kid was then severely bullied at school, with his grandmother filing a police report on his behalf. The Houston Police Department is now investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, locals are not taking this lying down, pointing out that recording and sharing footage of a minor in this condition may warrant charges of child exploitation or the distribution of child sexual abuse material, particularly as he apparently focused on the kid’s genitals.
Calls for the clerk’s arrest, termination, and potential civil action against Fuel Depot are growing, and yesterday, protestors arrived at the store to try and speak to the owner, telling would-be customers:

“You shouldn’t spend one g-d dollar in this store. What this store is, is exploiting a young black child. Embarrassing a young black child. And telling a black child that they can not use a restroom, and to go and doo-doo in the back? And then these no-good bastards recorded that child and then took the video and showed it to all of the kids leaving the school!
They showed a video of one of their classmates poo-pooing, embarrassing this young brother and treating him like he’s less than a human!”
The investigation remains ongoing, and Fuel Depot hasn’t commented on the situation. But, frankly, if the account of what happened is accurate, we hope this sadistic clerk is removed from their job and investigated. Any one of us could be that kid if we got caught in some gastrointestinal distress!
