‘I nearly died! Where’s the pro-life in that?!’: MAGA mom horrified as doctors tell her she can’t terminate fatal pregnancy due to strict new abortion laws

It’s all fun and games for MAGA until inevitably, in a twist nobody ever sees coming, it’s their life on the line. Enter Iowa mother of four Jessica Djukanovic, a proud conservative Christian who’s posted a video detailing the traumatic consequences of voting Republican.

Djukanovic explains that she “almost died” because she was explicitly denied medical care. She says she was diagnosed with a “fatal pregnancy” and underlines that her “baby was not going to make it”. The pregnancy being non-viable was confirmed by multiple doctors, all of whom agreed there was “no chance” the baby would survive for much longer.

In a sane world, this would be the cue for a medical intervention to end the pregnancy. If a fetus dies inside the mother, it can rapidly lead to sepsis and death. For Djukanovic, things rapidly started to become concerning, she says her health began to “rapidly decline” and her husband rushed her to hospital.

What happened next is shocking:

“I was not able to seek care in a timely manner or nearly at all. I was told to miscarry at home or wait it out or ask Google what to do.”

This is her doctors covering themselves legally, as they cannot intervene to save her life without becoming criminals themselves. Djukanovic continues:

“So I had a fetus in me that’s poisoning me from the inside out. I have three healthy lovely children at home, a business to run, a husband, and I’m not allowed to choose me? Where’s the pro-life in that? Pro-life? Like, choose me! Choose the mother! We’re completely forgetting the mother in this situation. At no point should a dying fetus have more precedence in a healthcare system over a healthy mother.”

Djukanovic concludes, “This is not what we voted for!” *slaps forehead* Yes! Yes, it is! They couldn’t have been clearer about what they were going to do!

Maybe explain this to the pro-life Iowa Republicans you happily put into office! Or the Republican Senators who argued for this in Washington! Or the grinning senile idiot you voted into the White House!

Djukanovic’s experience is proof that MAGA is perfectly happy to inflict misery on other people’s lives, but are shocked beyond measure when it boomerangs back on them. In a just world, this would see Djukanovic engage in some soul-searching as to just what being a conservative Christian means these days.

It’s unclear what happened with her fatal pregnancy, though as she’s alive, we presume she suffered the trauma of miscarrying at home. But, as with most MAGA who have to reap what they’ve sown, we suspect it’ll just be a week or two before she retreats into denial and falls for whatever nonsense they’re spouting once again.
