Certified by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), Jack Ü has just reached double platinum status with “Where Are Ü Now.” In July, the track hit one million units sold, and the masterpiece has since doubled in sales. Especially in electronic dance music, the widespread use of streaming services and illegal downloads makes it difficult to garner recorded sales, let alone over two million, so this is definitely quite the achievement.

Surprisingly, “Where Are Ü Now” was originally written by Justin Bieber on piano with Karl Rubin and Jordan Ware, before sending the track to Diplo and Skrillex as part of their Jack Ü project. It has been Bieber’s highest performing song since 2013’s “Boyfriend,” and one of Skrillex and Diplo’s highest charting tracks ever. The success of “Where Are Ü Now” is even proving to have an impact on Bieber’s upcoming album, as already heard in “What Do You Mean?”
