With the influx of HD re-releases on the PS3, does it surprise anyone that Jak and Daxter is making the jump? It shouldn’t, but this is still great news!

A PlayStation Blog post has revealed that the first three games in the series (Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3,) will be hitting PS3 in February 2012.

As with HD collection tradition, the games will feature trophy support and stereoscopic 3D. They will also run in 720p.

The collection is being handled by Mass Media, who are working closely with Naughty Dog.

What might be interesting to speculate about is the fact that each of these collections have all been released in anticipation of a new game. The God of War Collection came before God of War III, Sly Collection before Sly 4, Metal Gear Solid Collection for Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the forthcoming Devil May Cry collection for DmC, etc. Does this mean we might see a new Jak coming soon?
