If you’ve pored over the trailer of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve been blurped. You know… the little furry fellow caught fans’ attention because he was so, well, hard to miss? He has four ears and rows of teeth and how could you not love him?
Director James Gunn, a master at building buzz for his movies, dropped a “new look” at the fan fave character on Twitter from an account called “Blurp Updates.” Is it a clear, easily readable image? No. Does it kind of look like the Bigfoot film? That’s up to you to decide. Take a look.
The account has a few other ridiculously fun posts about everyone’s new favorite four-eared feline (my best guess).

You get the point. Perhaps realizing that Blurp was overshadowing everything else in life, Gunn actually revealed a lot more about the character in a recent interview with Empire.
“Probably the most important character to the Marvel Universe going forward is Blurp,” Gunn told the magazine with tongue firmly in cheek. So who is he?
“Blurp begins as a pet of one of the Ravagers in the movie. He carries him around,” he said. “Blurp is what’s known as a furry F’saki. In the very first movie, if you remember, there was that Orloni table that they were betting on, with that beast that was eating the animals. The bigger thing was eating the smaller things. That thing was a non-furry F’saki. Blurp is a furry F’saki. So that’s what he is. He’s a pet.”
With all this buzz, there’s a good chance Blurp will play a key part in the upcoming movie.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters on May 5.
