Justin Bieber To Perform At Sweden’s Summerburst Festival

When Skrillex and Diplo first announced back in 2014 that they were working on a single with Justin Bieber, no one could have predicted the pop vocalist would go on to become of one of dance music's most coveted singers. Of course, "Where Are Ü Now?" went on to become a big hit, leading to other EDM collaborations like "Let Me Love You" with DJ Snake and "Cold Water" with Major Lazer. Despite some rather vocal resistance from a number of fans in the scene, Bieber has managed to fully ingrain himself in dance music consciousness in just a few short years.

The latest event in Bieber’s ongoing conquest of dance music sees the singer added to the lineup for Sweden’s Summerburst festival in 2017, an event that traditionally books EDM acts. So far, Bieber and Axwell /\ Ingrosso are the only artists to have been officially announced for the lineup.

Anders Bostrom, Summerburst’s festival general, offered up a quote about the new lineup decision.

We are absolutely beside ourselves with happiness to welcome perhaps the world’s greatest pop artist to Stockholm and Summerburst 2017. Justin Bieber brings his show to really take Summerburst and dance to new heights, and this is perhaps the most exciting thing we’ve ever done on the Summerburst scene.

Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that Justin Bieber has been quite successful in integrating himself into electronic dance music, and his slot at Summerburst is just the latest example illustrating his influence over the scene.
