AMC’s The Killing has been renewed for a second season. A hit with the critics and successful in terms of ratings, the show will live for another year. Although not as successful as the network’s other hit show, The Walking Dead, AMC has ordered what is expected to be another 13 episode season.

The announcement comes to us just days before the show is set to have its finale (this sunday). While it’s still unknown if we’ll see an end to the Rosie Larson story, at least we know that come Sunday we won’t have seen the last of The Killing.

The original Swedish version aired twenty episodes before it finally wrapped up, so it’s very possible that AMC may leave us with a cliffhanger. Personally, I hope that’s not the case. I’ve waited a long time now to see the finale and having not seen the original, I honestly have no clue who the killer is (although I’m still an episode or two behind).

The Killing is a great show. Although not as good as it was when it started, it’s still one of the better shows on TV. Strong acting and tight writing make this one a compelling watch and news of a second season is fantastic to hear. I just hope that we get some answers this Sunday, don’t you?
