Fans of classic gaming now have another downloadable revamp to look forward to and champion.

Konami has officially announced that it’s partnered with InXile Entertainment, to bring Choplifter HD to our favourite high-definition video game devices. Available sometime this cold winter season, the game will come equipped with high-intensity, side-scrolling action, as players control a rescue helicopter.

As its debut trailer shows, saving the lives of others in Choplifter HD, means risking your own digital mortality. Enemies are ruthless, with rockets and laser-guided weaponry, making it important to get in and get out as quickly as possible. An arsenal of helpful weaponry assists the player, but damage is still as deadly as it’s ever been.

Keep checking back for more information regarding Choplifter HD, including its release date and pricing details. For now, all we know is that the revamp will be coming to XBLA, PSN and PC sometime this season.

About Choplifter HD

In Choplifter HD, players take on the role of an up and coming rescue pilot asked to join the elite, international helicopter rescue team. Pilots will be trained to command a variety of helicopters with offensive capabilities including missiles and mini-guns, as well as a very vocal co-pilot. Combining reality with elements of fantasy, the 30+ missions will range from captured military prisoner extraction to saving survivors of viral outbreaks.

Pilots must bank, hover, touch-down and sometimes even shake zombies from their chopper during lift-off in order to make their rescues. Gamers can also look forward to a few cameos from some of the videogame industry’s most legendary leading men including Duke Nukem and Super Meat Boy.
