Oh boy. Here we go. According to comments made by Associate Producer Mike Gamble, it seems there may be more under development for the Mass Effect franchise after the third game is released next month.

Oh boy. Here we go. According to comments made by Associate Producer Mike Gamble, it seems there may be more under development for the Mass Effect franchise after the third game is released next month.

The interview comes from GamerZines, where Gamble makes the simple comment:

It wouldn’t be a bad idea [to keep your ME3 saves.] Obviously I can’t say anything, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea…

That’s literally all he says, but it’s enough to light the internet on fire with speculation. Does that mean the saves might be used for planned DLC? Maybe even a future game altogether? Mass Effect 3 is supposed to be the last game in the Shepard saga, so what could that mean next?
