Mathew Lillard is the biggest winner from ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ trailer despite only appearing for seconds

Matthew Lillard is a scream, baby.

The trailer for the highly anticipated film version of the video game with a cult following, Five Nights at Freddy’s, has finally premiered, and fans can’t stop talking about one stand-out moment: Matthew Lillard‘s epic five seconds.

Lillard is a staple in the entertainment industry as a whole, but horror fans know that his particular brand of talent is seemingly tailor-made for the genre. He does frightening like no one’s business, and anyone who grew up watching Scream can tell you that what he brings to the table as Stu Macher is next-level. He’s conniving and evil, calculated and diabolical, and we have a feeling that his stint in FNAF will bring that same type of personality to the table.

Lillard will breathe life into William Afton, a central character in the Five Nights at Freddy’s story and one with many layers. If you’re not familiar with the lore and are hoping to stay surprised, we won’t give too much away; but much like his role of Macher — he’s polarizing, he’s sinister, and he’s gearing up to take us on an incredibly wild ride.

When fans saw the trailer, we were immediately taken aback by his short but sweet moment in the spotlight, and Lillard was just as excited.

Fans are thrilled to see him shine as this specific horror villain and can’t wait to see the arc we’ll soon see him on.

He looks so proud of his role!

We’re excited about every piece of the FNAF puzzle, but Lillard’s appearance is certainly something special.

Even people who have never been interested in FNAF are looking forward to seeing this movie because of Lillard’s involvement.

A moment is right.

Fans who have been waiting for months for this movie to premiere couldn’t be more thrilled that the moment is almost here. We can’t wait to see Lillard shine in FNAF or to finally feast our eyes upon the movie that will undeniably be a moment of its own across the pop culture realm.

What can we say? Loving Matthew Lillard is a mood, and we’re all feeling it. Five Nights at Freddy’s is slated to premiere on Oct. 27, just in time for a pre-Halloween spooky watch.
