Miranda Lambert is placing herself in the running to appear in the "Yellowverse," but maybe not in the way you'd expect.

Country artist Miranda Lambert is the latest in a line of celebrities to share her adoration for Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe, and she recently took the opportunity to pitch herself to Taylor Sheridan when they attended the same event in Texas.

Lambert is an iconic country music singer, someone who paved a path in her genre for toe-tapping, singing-at-the-top-of-your-lungs girl power country; and if you’ve ever had a Lambert song in your head, it’s undeniably become an earworm. From “Mama’s Broken Heart” to “White Liar” and “Drunk and I Don’t Wanna Go Home,” her songs are everywhere — and rightfully so. Lambert is a talent beyond measure. So, what was on Lambert’s mind when she talked to Sheridan?

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Lambert shared that she was recently in a circle with Sheridan, and as they talked about the cowboy lifestyle, she was talking to him about featuring her on his series — in the form of her songs.

“I actually was at a thing in Texas, Taylor Sheridan got a Texas Medal of Arts, and I did as well. So we got to talk about, you know, this lifestyle… I was pushing my songs for the show. I was like, ‘I have some tunes, man, here they are!'”

Not only would Lambert’s songs be a perfect fit for the series, but fans would also adore seeing her in a guest starring spot alongside the Duttons. The idea of being an actress isn’t really what fuels Lambert in a creative realm, but there’s something that could happen that would make it an easier journey for her.

“I’ve never been an actress. It’s not my favorite thing. I’ve done one thing and it was probably the one. I’m not saying I won’t ever do it again. But if I can play myself… that’s a little bit easier on me.”

As fans know, Sheridan isn’t a stranger to allowing artists to come to the show and bring what they already are to the table. He recently did just that with rising star Lainey Wilson, who brought to life a character named Abby, but everything else about her was very much Wilson-inspired.

Can you imagine a Lambert-inspired character in Yellowstone? She would be fierce, sassy, powerful, and hilarious — we’d love to see it. Would she be a family friend or a foe stepping in amid a tense battle between siblings for honor and legacy? Would she be a songstress with a twisted past, attached to the Duttons in a way we’ve yet to discover? The possibilities are endless.

Especially with the announcement of another Texas native joining a Yellowstone spin-off, we’re dreaming of all the ways Lambert could leave her mark in the realm, and yes, it would be alright, alright, alright.

If acting isn’t in her future, that’s okay because Lambert is living her best life in songwriting rooms with artists, the place she truly feels she finds the most joy. One of which was Morgan Wallen as of late, and the singer and songwriter gave him a shout on Instagram for a job well done on a tune they wrote together, “Thought You Should Know.”

“I really enjoy getting in rooms with other artists and sort of getting in their heads, because I’ve been the artist in the room for so many years with amazing writers. Getting to sort of get in someone else’s creative space and find what they’re looking for, it’s been really fun.”

Speaking of Wallen’s tune, she also talked about the honor of seeing the number one spot in the form of a songwriter. Of course, it was extra special because it was a song about his mom, and there’s nothing sweeter than that.

“I’ve written some number ones that I was the performer, but I never had a number one solo as a writer. So I was really proud of that. And it’s a song about his mama, which I love.”

Lambert is also a new partner of Ranch Water, a cocktail famous in Texas, so let’s face it — the story of inviting her into the Dutton realm in some way is pretty much writing itself. Be it in Yellowstone or the upcoming spin-off set at the 6666 Ranch (in Texas), we’re crossing our fingers that we see (or hear) her soon!
