Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward‘s Creative Strategist, recently announced that the first piece of DLC for Modern Warfare 3 will be released on January 24 for the Xbox 360. The date of launch for the PS3 and PC are not yet clear, and were not announced by Bowling.
According to Bowling, this will kick off the start of a “season of content”, an apparent reference to the aforementioned 20 pieces of DLC over nine months. Not much regarding the DLC pack was announced, however, Bowling tweeted an image of a map included in the DLC, named Park.
Bowling also hinted that Special Ops missions would be included in the pack, along with “a variety of things that players have never seen before.”
Park was mentioned in an earlier “leak” of the maps, but it is not immediately clear if this is simply a coincidence or if the supposed leak was somewhat credible after all. As it stands, Bowling said via twitter that more details would be available regarding the map pack come January.
