Moronic Marjorie Taylor Greene backs her orange-faced overlord’s view that the gun problem isn’t caused by guns

Even by The Notorious M.T.G.'s standards, this is preposterous.

DALTON, GA - MAY 27: U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) speaks at an America First Rally also attended by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) on May 27, 2021 in Dalton, Georgia. The two Republicans, among the most outspoken supporters of former President Donald Trump, are co-hosting a cross-country series of rallies.

However, that hasn’t stopped Capitol Hill’s premiere Karen from once more bowing down to the misguided ramblings of Donald Trump after Marjorie Taylor Greene lent support to his prior claims that the issues are derived from virtually anything besides firearms.

Even though you can’t have gun violence without it, pointing fingers elsewhere continues to be a favored tactic of those who refuse to believe that making potentially deadly weapons available so easily and with variable levels of regulation could possibly be the cause.

An ironclad fact that a lot of people always tend to bring up whenever another tragic incident unfolds is the aftermath of the Dunblane Primary School shooting in Scotland, which happened in 1996. 16 pupils and a teacher were shot and killed, with another 15 being injured. As a result, the United Kingdom cracked down and significantly tightened its gun control laws, and in the 27 years since, there have been precisely zero active shooter incidents in schools across the entire length and breadth of the country.

It’s a debate that’s never going to recede into the background of American politics, though, but there’s only so many times you can blame the problem on mental health, social circumstances, the culture, or even spiritualism as MTG and Trump are wont to do without staring the elephant in the room directly in the face and admitting that maybe, just maybe, it’s the guns.
