The Ratchet & Clank Collection, a remastered compilation of the first three titles in the acclaimed Ratchet & Clank franchise, has been confirmed for both a retail and digital release in North America on August 28.

Originally announced in March, the collection will be available both on disc as well as a download on the PlayStation Network. It will retail for $29.99, and include several of the original PlayStation 2 entries in the series: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. It will feature a set of PS3 trophies to collect, 720p and 3D graphics support, and the original online mode from Up Your Arsenal.

As a bonus to American consumers who have had to wait a bit longer for the collection (it launched in numerous other countries last month), this version of the collection will include a demo for another of Sony’s upcoming platformers, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, as well as a free PlayStation 3 avatar.
