Originally announced back in May, the latest entry in the Ratchet & Clank franchise, Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, has had its first gameplay details revealed by developer Insomniac Games.

Full Frontal Assault will return to the classic camera and weapon setup of traditional Ratchet & Clank titles after last year’s All 4 One changed things up a bit. The game will span five different levels across three worlds, and will allow players to select between series mainstays Ratchet, Clank, and Captain Qwark.

The major new addition to the gameplay will come in the form of a tower defense-styled mechanic, which will have players building and defending bases from alien invaders. In addition, the game will support both local and online co-op multiplayer, and will feature a slew of unlockable content such as character skins and weapon upgrades.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is currently scheduled for a fall release on the PlayStation Network. We will keep you updated as more details are revealed.
