Rob Swire Shuts Down Pendulum Reunion Rumors

Ultra Miami treated fans to a rare surprise earlier in the year when they secured drum and bass band Pendulum to close out the festival for its final night. Following their first live performance in years, their website was brought back online, causing fan speculation to run rampant over the prospect of a reunion for the now disbanded electronic group. With word of another performance scheduled for Perth spreading around the internet, the reunion rumors have once again hit a fever pitch.

After the rumors caught fire, Rob Swire took to Twitter yesterday to be the bearer of bad news, effectively shutting down any hope for a full blown Pendulum reunion. His Tweet states that the Perth performance is merely a one off DJ set because their schedules happened to line up for the show, but that a Pendulum reunion still isn’t happening.

Drum and bass fans will likely continue to hope in vain for Pendulum to reunite, but Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen just don’t seem interested in reviving the project. Thankfully, we still have Knife Party, who continue to shake up dance music with tracks like their recent Tom Morello collaboration “Battle Sirens,” which just received a hard hitting remix from Brillz earlier in the week.
