Following up on his recent collaboration with Jauz on “OK!,” future bass mastermind San Holo is back with his latest single “Light.” By now, the Dutch DJ has firmly established himself as one of the top purveyors of the chill trap movement that’s taken off over the last year, and “Light” exemplifies all the qualities that have brought San Holo to prominence.
A captivating chord progression starts “Light” off, joined by blippy vocal chops, trap beats and fluttering synths. Some heartbreaking pitch shifted vocals run throughout the song, bringing some extra emotional weight to the uplifting production. Moving into the drop, a soaring melody shines over booming sub bass and sustained ambience, surrounding the listener in enticing soundscapes.
San Holo’s production prowess shows up in full force on “Light” as he crafts a serene yet upbeat future bass cut. Fans of the genre will be pleased to see the producer bringing original ideas to the table, and the new single definitely ranks as a memorable effort.
