Skrillex is no stranger to the world of hip-hop, but his latest collaboration may well be his most hard-hitting to date. The bass music icon has most notably joined forces with A$AP Mob constituents of late, but lyrical contributions by Rick Ross give “Purple Lamborghini” markedly more grit.
In addition to somewhat predictable gangsta rap production hallmarks, “Purple Lamborghini” features a drop with metallic, flitting bass wobbles for unmistakeable crossover appeal. Rick Ross belts out anthemic verses over the top, and samples previously used in tracks from Skrillex’s early discography are hidden like easter eggs in a few parts of the arrangement.
On the OWSLA page, Skrillex and Rick Ross have also teased the song’s official music video:
Since the full Suicide Squad soundtrack will come out on August 5th, there’s a strong chance the full video will arrive by then as well. Until that happens though, listen to Skrillex and Rick Ross’ “Purple Lamborghini” in the SoundCloud player above and keep on the lookout for it in the next few weeks.
