Horror author Stephen King posted a sharp attack on President Donald Trump on X, targeting his personal life. However, one major factual error in the post quickly drew heavy criticism from users online. King’s post included several digs at Trump.
According to Fox News, he wrote, “Trump: has never had a child. Has been married 3 times. Ran several businesses into the ground. Never ran a home, couldn’t make a bed to save his a—. Calls people he works with dumb, losers, ect. Has never done sweat labor. Has never served on a local committee.” King finished by saying Trump “has no life experience.”
The “never had a child” claim was immediately called out, as Trump is a father of five. Donald Trump Jr., the President’s eldest, fired back on X, writing: “Well, this is news to me… unless he means birthed a child which would also hold true for every male ever. TDS is real and it’s scary.”
King also faced plagiarism accusations after copying a post about AOC and applying it to Trump
Libs of TikTok posted, “Trump literally has 5 kids. What is this s—?” Ryan Girdusky, founder of the 1776 Project PAC, said, “Um… I’m pretty sure Donald Trump had children.” Conservative writer Bonchie asked, “Is there a 25th Amendment for taking peoples’ phones away?” and conservative reporter Jerry Dunleavy sarcastically wrote, “Donald Trump, famously childless.”
King’s post closely mirrored a tweet posted just days earlier by an account called “Stacy is Right,” which describes itself as a MAGA mother of three. That post attacked Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, mocking her for not having children, never being married, never running a business, and never having had a “professional job.” It also claimed Ocasio-Cortez “has no real life experience. Is a typical deadbeat socialist.”
King had reshared that original post before writing his own version about Trump, which led to accusations of plagiarism. Matt Van Swol, a former Department of Energy nuclear scientist, called him out directly, posting, “You literally plagiarized an entire post…which was about AOC… and then applied it to Trump…… for whom it isn’t true and doesn’t make any sense. Why are you plagiarizing? I thought you were a writer?”
This incident happened just as Trump was preparing to address Congress in the 2026 State of the Union on Tuesday evening, where he was expected to highlight achievements on border security and trade. Critics have not held back in pointing out Trump’s governance missteps, with many questioning the administration’s competence on multiple fronts.
King has long been a vocal critic of Trump on social media. In February 2025, he posted, “Just wanted to say that Trump is a traitorous, Putin-loving dipsh—! Goes double for Elon!” He also compared ICE to Nazi Germany’s secret police, writing, “ICE is the American Gestapo.”
While this latest post drew particular attention for its clear factual error, it fits a well-established pattern of King using X to share strong political opinions against Trump and his administration. Separately, Trump has also faced scrutiny over his handling of Iran’s nuclear threat, adding to a growing list of controversies surrounding his second term.
