As promised, this anticipated result was announced during last night’s NHL Awards, which took place in Las Vegas. It was fitting, too, because Sin City has officially been granted its own National Hockey League team after a drawn out process that also included interest from Quebec City.

In other NHL 17-related news, Electronic Arts has also announced that registration has opened for the game’s public beta, which will begin on July 28th. Featuring three different game modes, it will give players a chance to go hands-on with this year’s iteration before it releases, and provide feedback to the developers in the process. Those aren’t the only benefits, though, as it’s also been mentioned that NHL Insiders will receive early access to things like news and gameplay trailers.

NHL 17 will be released on September 13th, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While you wait, make sure to check out our hands-on preview.
