Those who are looking for a more motion-controlled take on Modern Warfare 3 will be happy to know that a version of the game is in the works for the Wii. As for who is at the helm: it’s Treyarch, who have worked on the series for quite a long time and are well-equipped to tackle the project. They’re the folks behind World at War and Black-Ops, as well as the Wii versions of each. In addition, you can also find their work inside of the virtual battlefields of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex.

“The Wii has grown so much as a platform,” Infinity Ward spokesman Robert Bowling mentioned during a One of Swords podcast session. “The great thing is Treyarch proved that you can have an awesome experience on the Wii with Call of Duty. They’ll actually be handling that for Modern Warfare 3.”

Although this announcement lacks surprise, it’s nice to know that a studio familiar with the series will be at the helm for its next Wii outing. When all versions of the game are released, it’ll be interesting to see how this one differs from its high-definition big brother.
