Twisted Metal seems to be the latest victim of the online pass mentality. While director David Jaffe had explicitly stated he didn’t want to be tied into having a PSN Pass, The Gamer Hub is reporting that QA lead Justin Trease responded with a definite yes regarding its inclusion.

Jaffe had previously said:

“I’d actually prefer that we don’t [include PSN Pass], even though it’s probably good business, only because we have such a mountain to climb in terms of gaining people’s good faith, especially in Europe, and really letting people know that this is a title that’s worth getting excited about.”

I wonder what caused Jaffe to change his mind. Any thoughts?

While it’s not yet known what the pass will entail, based off what we’ve seen in the past, I’m willing to bet that online play will be restricted to new customers or those who choose to pay for it later on.

As we get more details we’ll be sure to fill you in.
