‘Wait ’til you guys see the interior’: Detail shop reveals classic car covered in dust, but what’s inside has everyone calling BS

The interior is suspiciously perfect

A car detailing shop called Scrub posted a video of a 1988 Cadillac Coupe DeVille that looked abandoned and covered in dust. But people on social media aren’t buying it. The car’s interior was way too clean, and viewers think the shop might have added dirt on purpose to make a dramatic before-and-after video.

According to Motor1, the video went viral on Facebook, but something didn’t add up. The outside of the car was filthy, but the inside looked brand new. This big difference made many people suspicious about whether the car was really abandoned at all.

The person making the video said the Cadillac was last registered in 2003. The car looked terrible from the outside, covered in dust and thick cobwebs. It looked like it had been sitting untouched for years. The team started washing the car with low-pressure water on the hood. The dirt came off easily and showed bright red paint underneath.

The cleaning revealed something strange

They vacuumed the windows, cleaned the rest of the glass, and washed the vinyl hood and body. After spraying it down and wiping off plants and debris by hand, they added soapy cleaner. Then they dried the car with special cloths and rinsed it again.

As the outside started looking better, the content creator teased what was coming next. He said to wait until people saw the interior.

That’s when things got weird. Even though the narrator said the car had been abandoned for 22 years, the inside looked perfect. It had clean white leather seats with a two-tone maroon design. When the video ended, the interior looked exactly like it did when the car was new in 1988. For car enthusiasts who prioritize vehicles over major family events, this pristine classic would be a dream find. Scrub also said the Cadillac only had 35,000 miles on it.

This perfect condition made viewers doubt the story. If a car sits for more than 20 years, the inside should show serious damage. The only way it could look this good is if the detailers didn’t show the real “before” footage, or the car was kept in a sealed, climate-controlled space with no moisture.

One person pointed out: “The wheel were already clean,no dirt.”  “I’m convinced these are all staged… they all have the same dirt on them…”, another wrote. This could be a ploy that car retailers often use while selling vehicles to major buyers.
