Details have surfaced regarding Warhammer 40K: Kill Team – a title that was outed earlier this week by the Australian Classifications Board. The game’s publisher (THQ) has officially confirmed that the downloadable game will be a twin-stick shooter, released to tie-in with its upcoming third-person action game, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine.

Available on PSN and XBOX Live Arcade in July for $10 (800 Microsoft Points,) Kill Team will feature “same screen” co-operative play. At this moment, it is unclear as to whether it is limited to only local co-op, or if the game will have an online component.

Gamers will have four playable character classes (two range and two melee) as well as six chapters of the Space Marines to choose from. Its gameplay will be frenetic, with some creative power-ups and epic boss battles, which are sure to make even the most badass marine shake in his boots.

Completing the game will unlock the power sword for use in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine when it launches on September 6.
