The island is home to a number of ancient sites, including the remains of a Bronze Age fort and a number of stone forts dating back to the Iron Age. Inishmore is also said to be the final resting place of St. Patrick, Ireland’s patron saint.

Inishmore was chosen as a filming location for The Banshees of Inisherin because of its stunning scenery and unique landscape. The island is known for its rugged coastline, dramatic cliffs, and beautiful beaches, making it an ideal backdrop for the film. Additionally, the island has a rich history and culture that adds to the atmosphere of the movie.

Dún Aonghasa

Dún Aonghasa is a clifftop fort located on the Aran Islands. This is where much of the film’s opening sequence was filmed, as well as several other key scenes. It is believed to have been built in the 10th or 11th century, making it one of the oldest surviving structures on the island. The fort was built on a strategic location overlooking the sea, and it served as a defensive stronghold against invaders. The views from the fort are simply stunning, and there’s something very eerie about standing on this ancient structure knowing that it has witnessed so much history.

Cloughmore

Cloughmore is a small village in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is located on the River Inch, between the towns of Clonmel and Cahir. The village was a major filming location for The Banshees Of Inisherin. Its quaint, rural atmosphere was perfect for the movie’s setting. Many of its old stone buildings and cobblestone roads were used in the film.

Keem Beach

Located on the west coast of Ireland, Keem Beach is a stunning stretch of sand that’s perfect for a day by the sea. The beach is also home to some incredible cliffs, as well as a range of stunning views across the Atlantic Ocean. The stunning views at Keem Beach were perfect for creating an atmosphere of dread and mystery in this film.

Purteen Harbour

The stunning harbour of Purteen served as the perfect backdrop for scenes in The Banshees of Inisherin. It’s a picturesque fishing village on the western coast of Ireland, whose harbor is surrounded by beautiful cliffs and rugged rocks. It’s no wonder why filmmakers chose this breathtaking location to bring their story to life. The harbour has been used in numerous movies and television shows due to its unique features that make it so visually appealing.

Corrymore Lake

Corrymore Lake is a small freshwater lake located in County Mayo, Ireland. It is a beautiful but foreboding place. It’s where old Mrs. McCormick’s cottage is located, and where Dominic tries to woo Siobhan. It has a path going to the cliffs of Croaghuan, which is one of Ireland’s highest cliffs and has stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The lake is also home to a variety of fish, including brown trout, pike, and salmon.
