Woman born from an affair says husband deliberately recreated her family secret with a married coworker: ‘bomb waiting to detonate’

He doubled her trauma.

A woman claims her husband deliberately recreated the family secret that defined her childhood, according to her post on Reddit in r/Marriage. She says she was born from an affair her mother had with a firefighter, a fact she discovered at age 20. Her husband was reportedly the only person she trusted with that history and the trauma it caused her.

Despite knowing how much this secret hurt her, her husband allegedly began an affair with a married coworker who is now reportedly pregnant. The coworker may plan to pass the child off as her own husband’s, mirroring the exact situation the author lived through. The author wrote, “I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone.”

The situation becomes more disturbing when considering the husband’s alleged behavior. He reportedly told his wife that he enjoys the idea that the other woman’s husband will never know the child is not his. He also allegedly said he takes pleasure in knowing the secret is a “bomb waiting to detonate.”

He apparently wanted the secret to blow up another man’s family

He reportedly bragged that he has “robbed another man of the pleasure of fathering a woman’s first child.” He also allegedly lied to the coworker about having a vasectomy, as he wanted her to get pregnant.

He reportedly brought the coworker into the couple’s home and told his wife he enjoyed the idea of “intentionally impregnating a young girl” in their bed. However, his alleged remarks to his wife were even more personal, as he reportedly said the coworker pleases him in ways she never has and is more beautiful.

He allegedly added that he is relieved he does not have to “listen to her cry about her daddy issues.” The author is three and a half months postpartum and caring for a baby and two toddlers. She suspects her husband pushed for the children to create a financial trap, making it harder to leave.

Her comment references The Twilight Zone, Rod Serling’s classic CBS series that aired from 1959 to 1964. The anthology show told standalone science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories, and many ended with a shocking twist. Her own life reportedly took a similar turn when she learned the truth about her biological father at 20, and when her husband reportedly recreated that same trauma.

In later comments, the Redditor also said the affair partner allegedly “sent me entire paragraphs of text messages, detailing the events of the affair and photographic evidence. I am just at a loss.” She said she feels numb and confused, struggling to understand why he would intentionally recreate the family dynamic that damaged her life. She described the ordeal as a level of psychopathy she cannot comprehend.

Other users responded with strong advice. One person wrote, “But overall, this is insanity. You should leave him.” Another called him “one of the most creative villains ever created” and urged her to “RUN.” A third commenter pointed out that she trusted him with her trauma, and he apparently chose to recreate it.
