‘A database of the atrocities’: Tim Walz urges Minnesotans to always film ICE, promises future prosecutions

"Accountability is coming, at the voting booth and in court."

The wheels of justice grind slowly, but they grind finely, and one day the ICE thugs trampling over the U.S. Constitution will face justice for their crimes. Donald Trump is pushing 80, looking increasingly unhealthy, and any day you could wake up, pick up your phone, and see that “it” has finally happened.

Whether MAGA can survive Trump is anyone’s guess, but just because things look bad now doesn’t mean they’ll stay this way forever. After all, without Trump, the whole MAGA regime may collapse amidst a nasty power struggle.

As such, former vice presidential candidate and outgoing Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, is urging you to maintain hope and begin preparing for a future in which these criminals are hauled before a judge.

“Tonight, I want to share another way you can help: Witness. Help us establish a record of exactly what’s happening in our communities. You have an absolute right to peacefully film ICE agents as they conduct their activities. So carry your phone with you at all times. And if you see ICE in your neighborhood, take out that phone and hit record.”

We will not have to live like this forever

He continued:

“Help us create a database of the atrocities against Minnesotans – not just to establish a record for posterity, but to bank evidence for future prosecution. … We will not have to live like this forever. Accountability is coming, at the voting booth and in court.”

It’s a rare moment of hope in this darkness that he seems confident that ICE agents are not -as Trump insists – above the law. Looking back at history, there are many moments when evil seemed like it’d be eternally triumphant, before brave individuals stepped in to ensure that those who perpetuated it faced justice.

I’m sure from within 1930s Germany, the casual dominance of the Nazi Party and its street thugs seemed implacable. Then as now, uniformed goons acting with the leaders’ approval brutalized, intimidated, and killed the populace, apparently without fear of consequence.

Yet it was just a decade later that some of the very same people who once appeared invulnerable were being hauled before judges at Nuremberg, their crimes detailed at length, and then led off to the gallows to pay.

We can’t guarantee that anything similar will ever happen to the Trump regime. Trump himself will almost certainly escape any form of consequence for betraying the Constitution by dying before justice arrives. But Kristi Noem? Stephen Miller? Greg Bovino? We have to hope. Tick tock. Tick tock.
