‘A non-human intelligence trying to communicate with us’: British filmmaker asks next pope to declassify Vatican alien secrets

Does the Vatican know something we don't?

The Vatican is no doubt keeping more than a few secrets from the rest of the world — Dan Brown novels have at least taught me that much. However, I can safely say I didn’t have a conspiracy theory relating to the church and UFOs on my 2025 Bingo card.

It turns out the Vatican might be sitting on some pretty significant evidence of alien life if one British filmmaker and UFO researcher is to be believed. Mark Christopher Lee has called upon whoever becomes the next pope to break the silence surrounding aliens.

Pope Francis passed away on Easter Monday at the age of 88. However, we have yet to find out who the next pope will be. The process for choosing a replacement can be lengthy as Cardinals in the Conclave are locked away within the Vatican to deliberate. Regardless, Lee is eager to get his voice heard now while the news is still fresh. The filmmaker, who has worked on numerous documentaries on the subject, believes the Vatican has knowledge of aliens and he’s hopeful whoever takes on the role of pope will reveal these secrets.

What does the Vatican supposedly know?

Lee looks to the research of Vatican scholar Rob Howell highlighting the allegations that the church is suppressing information regarding the “Three Secrets of Fatima.” These were a series of prophecies revealed to three Portuguese shepherds in 1917. They claimed that they had been visited by the Virgin Mary, who revealed three secrets to them.

Howell suggested that the full message of these secrets have not been revealed to the public. He claimed that there may be something else being kept hidden from the rest of the world. What is that exactly? We can’t say for sure, but Lee has an idea on what it could be.

Aliens

Of course it’s aliens, what else could it be? Lee thinks that the visions the three young shepherds experienced were actually the result of extra-terrestrials communicating with them. He insists that the whole thing was misinterpreted as a religious experience when in reality it was aliens — a much more plausible explanation of course.

“What the children saw and described — an intense shining object, sudden weather changes, and a radiant ‘being’ who communicated messages — fits the classic pattern of close encounters.”

Lee goes on to say that “This was not the Virgin Mary. This was a non-human intelligence trying to communicate with us. And the Vatican knows it.” The filmmaker simply wants the new papacy to be transparent and share the truth “[The Vatican] must no longer suppress information that could fundamentally reshape our understanding of our place in the cosmos.”

So is he onto something here? Or is he another tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist? Well there’s no solid evidence to prove the Vatican is hiding the truth about aliens. It’s more of a hunch Lee has. But even if he were right, it’s unlikely the next pope would reveal that information anyway.
