Adam Kinzinger pursues Epstein truth as Don Jr.’s words come back to haunt him

Agreeing with Don Jr. was not on our bingo card.

The Trump administration has faced serious backlash over its handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, from no one more so than former Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who on July 21, dug up an old Donald Trump Jr.‘s X post that – in of light of the Trump DOJ’s decision on Epstein – hasn’t aged well, to say the least.

Kinzinger also reshared a 2023 Don Jr. post, while Biden was in office: “Show us all the Epstein client list now!!! Why would anyone protect those scumbags? Ask yourself this question daily, and the answer becomes very apparent!!”

“May we all have the same courage as this to ask for the truth”

Kinzinger provided this tongue-in-cheek caption for his post, “Good morning everyone! May we all have the same courage as this to ask for the truth,” and by doing so, pointed out the irony that after campaigning on full Epstein disclosure, the Trump DOJ’s decision to declare the Epstein case more or less closed means the “scumbags” are being protected and the president himself is a strong contender.

Response to what Kinzinger shared ranged from continued misguided criticism from Trump supporters to shock that for once it is possible to agree with Trump Jr. Kinzinger.

Kinzinger won’t let Trump forget Epstein

Kinzinger’s post about Don Jr. was just one of several Kinzinger has made since the DOJ memo was released. In another, Kinzinger wrote in part, “Donald Trump built a career on humiliating others. Now, thanks to the Epstein scandal, he’s finally tasting it himself. His own supporters are turning on him. The polls are brutal. And all he can do is squirm.” In yet another, Kinzinger simply wrote Epstein nearly 500 times.

Trump’s Epstein troubles

Kinzinger, a Republican, is an outspoken Trump critic, so his response to how Trump has backtracked on Epstein should perhaps come as no surprise. But even former MAGA disciples like Marjorie Taylor Greene and far-right influencer Nick Fuentes have broken ranks amid the controversy.

On his America First podcast, Fuentes stated in part, “This entire thing has been a scam … When we look back on the history of populism in America, we are going to look back on the MAGA movement as the biggest scam in history. And the liberals were right. The MAGA supporters were had. They were.”

Even Trump has gone so far as to call those upset over the DOJ Epstein memo “stupid” and “foolish.” It remains to be seen if Trump’s decision to release “pertinent” Epstein grand jury testimony transcripts will stem the tide of dissent. Legal analysts had said it could take weeks or even months for those files to be released, and even then, many doubt the transcripts will reveal the information they seek.

According to ABC News, however, The Wall Street Journal article alleging Trump drew Epstein an explicit birthday picture with a suggestive note has had the opposite effect, reinvigorating Trump’s MAGA support in some circles. MAGA podcaster Jack Posobiec, for one, said of the article, “We’re so back. Everyone is firing on all cylinders. The MAGA movement is completely united behind this fight.”
