America sets sights on Iran as Senator Lindsey Graham warns Ayatollah ‘Donald J. Trump is going to kill you’

Lindsey Graham has promised to "Make Iran Great Again."

The U.S. has given a warning to Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei with Senator Lindsey Graham outright telling the country’s leader that Donald Trump will kill him if his forces were to continue using violence to suppress protesters in Iran.

Protests have erupted across Iran with calls for a regime change after years of civil unrest. The economy has declined sharply which is what spurred this latest round of protests. There have been large turnouts at anti-government gatherings in 50 towns and cities according to BBCNews

It seems clear that the people want Ayatollah Ali Khamenei which has prompted a violent response from the state. This week, at least 35 people were killed in clashes at the protests and more than 1,200 have been arrested by security forces.

Now, with Iran seemingly in shambles, the U.S. has turned its gaze towards the country and its leader. Lindsey Graham told Ali Khamenei to stop killing the protesters in his country. He then went on to give the country’s leader a chilling warning, telling him, “If you keep killing your people for demanding a better life Donald J. Trump is going to kill you.”

Graham’s comments seem to indicate that the president is indeed considering intervening in the affairs of Iran. Considering his shocking and brash interference in Venezuela, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the administration followed through on this threat.

People don’t want the U.S. involved in Iran

Online, many are skeptical over whether the U.S. should really involve itself in the affairs of Iran right now. The two countries have a history of conflict and it seems like the American government is poised to take advantage of the failing leadership.

“Iran isn’t our problem.” Wrote one person on X, “I don’t care no matter how much Graham tries to make me.” It seems the sentiment is echoed across many on the internet with others writing similar things. Plenty called out Graham’s apparent eagerness to start a war while a few joked about how the senator is “desperate to hold onto the promise of golf with Trump.” That man does seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the president.

Lindsey Graham also proudly displayed his own custom “Make Iran Great Again” cap, similar to Trump’s MAGA hats. He proclaimed that 2026 would be the year that the U.S. would make it happen and that Trump is “no Barack Obama” and “he’s not turning his back on the people of Iran.” However, it seems people aren’t buying Graham’s claim that going after the Iranian leader would really help the people of the country. They’d rather just stay out of it.
