‘Anointed by Jesus’: Military informed that Donald Trump’s destiny is ‘to cause Armageddon’ and usher in Day of Judgment

These lunatics are going to kill us all.

It boggles the mind that any Christian can support Donald Trump. Literally everything Trump does runs directly counter to Christ’s explicit teachings. But, for hardcore evangelicals, it seems praising a blasphemous, self-centered idolator is acceptable so long as he cracks down on women, the LGBTQ community, ethnic minorities, and supports Israel.

Now, with the Middle East in flames after the U.S. and Israel’s bombing of Iran and their subsequent retaliation, that rhetoric has cranked up a notch. Trump has just been upgraded from a noble leader to a genuine spiritual figure with the personal endorsement of Christ himself.

As reported by Jordan Larsen, multiple higher-ups in the military have informed officers that Trump has been “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.”

These comments were reported to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (the MRFF) by an officer shocked that a superior had told him to inform his troops that:

“This was ‘all part of God’s divine plan’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ.”

“This new “biblically-sanctioned” war.”

MRFF President and Air Force veteran Mikey Weinstein claims that this messaging is now common throughout the US military, describing:

“The unrestricted euphoria of their commanders and command chains as to how this new “biblically-sanctioned” war is clearly the undeniable sign of the expeditious approach of the fundamentalist Christian “End Times” as vividly described in the New Testament Book of Revelation.

Many of their commanders are especially delighted with how graphic this battle will be zeroing in on how bloody all of this must become in order to fulfill and be in 100% accordance with fundamentalist Christian end of the world eschatology.”

Let’s be clear about what this means. People in positions of authority within the military believe that they are helping create the conditions for “the Great Tribulation”, which ushers in unprecedented global suffering: wars, famines, plagues, natural disasters, celestial signs, and judgments poured out as God’s wrath on a sinful world.

Unfortunately, most of us will come out the other side plunged into an eternal lake of fire (aw raspberries!). Trump-lovin’ evangelicals will, however, get to enjoy eternal happiness. Good for them. Trump himself? Oh, he knows where he’s heading…

All of this is completely insane. But, worryingly, the people who believe this are also in control of the biggest nuclear arsenal on the planet and capable of wiping out human civilization overnight. So, uh, enjoy your morning coffee, everyone.
