The war in Iran has spilled over to the Gulf, Europe, and every other nation that depends on the Strait of Hormuz to fulfill their energy requirements. Soon, more countries will have a vested interest in how all this will end. China, however, has not been subtle in showing the world who they’d prefer to turn out victorious — and Iranian propaganda is now making it past the notorious Chinese censors, suggesting Donald Trump is using this war to distract Americans from the Jeffrey Epstein files.
In the two weeks that this war has been fought, so much has changed, yet so much has remained the same. Trump and the Israeli leadership have been very happy about their campaign in Iran. Per reports directly from the Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu administrations, the expensive air campaigns in Iran have been largely successful, and now the IRGC are no longer capable of building nuclear weapons or ballistic missiles.
When you look at the White House and IDF’s social media accounts, it’s an endless barrage of videos showing successful missile strikes in Iran. Trump has threatened that things might get worse and even stated, “watch what will happen to those scumbags today.” But in war, there will always be two fronts: what’s happening on the ground, and the reporting — and by extension, the propaganda.
For Iran, the focus is solely on appeasing potential ally China. It’s well known that China’s internet censors are very rigid. Nothing gets through unless President Xi Jinping’s administration wants it to. According to CNN, Iran has been flooding the Chinese internet with AI videos that show Trump trying to start a war to distract the media from the Epstein saga. Some even mock his attempt to replace Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei, only for it to end with his son taking over.
China is showing a neutral stance in the international community, calling for an end to the war because it “benefits no one.” But the truth is that internally, they are allowing their citizens to watch propaganda that showcases the US in a bad light. Some reports have also been swirling that this could allow Chinese naval bases around Asia to have free rein as the Iran war wears on without much deterrence.
Furthermore, Chinese ships are apparently placing messages on them to alert Iranian forces along the Strait of Hormuz that they are an ally and therefore should be allowed to pass without issue. This war is seemingly going to go on longer than anyone had planned. Some reports suggest that the IRGC have no intention of bowing down to external threats unless the US sends boots on the ground — which would be disastrous in terms of US servicemen whose lives would be at risk.
Trump is currently still raging on Truth Social, as usual, complaining about why the US media is not portraying his campaign as a success. Basically begging them to propagandize as well — like the states he maligns so often for not having freedom of information. But ultimately, propaganda is never good for anyone. Lives and economies are at risk — taxpayers deserve to know exactly what their money is being prioritized for.

Propaganda only benefits those already in power.
