Conservative influencer claims he was ‘forced’ to drive through ICE protesters – but fails to bury the truth

Nick Sortor was in a similar situation to Renee Nicole Good, the difference is he survived.

Conservative influencer, Nick Sortor, has over a million followers on X and is known for covering riots and protests. This week he found himself in the middle of one as anti-ICE protesters surrounded his vehicle. Sortor proceeded to drive his vehicle through the crowd, but of course, unlike Renee Nicole Good, Sortor wasn’t brutally gunned down.

A video of the incident from inside the vehicle was posted to X but Sortor himself. “ICE rioters SURROUNDING my vehicle, smashing my windows, and attempting to kiII @CamHigby and me” he explains, “I was forced to drive away to save our lives.”

The clip shows Sortor and Higby in the vehicle with a crowd of protesters outside who can be heard taunting and making jeering remarks. Sortor can also be heard repeatedly yelling at the crowd, to “get out of the way,” as he prepares to accelerate. As he does, one of the protesters jumps on to the hood of the vehicle while Sortor increases his speed. What sounds like smashing glass can be heard from the back window.

In his post to X, Sortor claims that vehicles were used to block them from escaping and they were also chased down the interstate by “another one of their goons.” The police were called on Sortor and he was accused of “running innocent protestors over.”

MAGA defends Nick Sortor

Much like Renee Nicole Good is accused of doing, Sortor used his vehicle as a weapon, something which, according to this government, is grounds for execution. However, in this case the MAGA nuts are swarming to defend him. One person on X, referred to the anti-ICE protesters as “the lowest vermin.” Others claimed Sortor’s actions were justified as his life was in danger, (so was Good’s but they’ll ignore that).

Now in all honesty, Sortor was in a frightening situation and accelerating to escape seems like something anyone might consider. But the issue is that MAGA can’t bring themselves to admit that the same logic applies to Renee Nicole Good, a civilian who found herself in a frightening situation similar to Sortor.

It seems clear MAGA seems to believe it’s one rule for them and another rule for the rest. It’s shocking to see such blatant hypocrisy, especially when Nick Sortor hasn’t given the full story.

Sortor clearly wants to push the narrative that the “radical left” are violent savages that threatened his life for no reason but he’s left out some vital context.

Viral footage floating around from what appears to be the same night shows him involved in an altercation with a woman trying to block him from filming. The situation turns violent and Sortor can be seen swinging at the woman.

This wannabe journalist is trying to weave a narrative based on lies so it’s only right to give the full story. Nick Sortor’s actions don’t warrant his life being put in danger, but neither did Renee Nicole Good’s actions, yet one got away without so much as a scratch and one is gone forever.
