‘Cruelty is the point’: Nancy Mace proudly announces her sadistic habit, and it’s watching someone else’s pain

Look out, South Carolina, Governor Mace could be coming soon.

Many people turn to the internet for cat videos or the latest TikTok dance craze, but South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace, a MAGA Republican, watches YouTube for another reason entirely, according to a comment she made on Fox Report Weekend, Sunday, July 27, 2025.

Mace told the host Jon Scott, “I have to tell you – one of my favorite things to watch on YouTube these days are court hearings where illegals are in court and ICE shows up to drag them out of court and deport them.”

I can think of nothing more American

She added, “I can think of nothing more American today than keeping our streets safer by getting those violent criminals out of the United States of America, and we all have Donald J Trump to thank for it.”

Estimates vary, but according to the Deportation Data Project and ICE internal data through late June 2025, approximately 65% of individuals processed by ICE had no criminal convictions, and 93% had no violent convictions. Only 35% had any convictions, and less than 7% involved violent crimes.

“This is who the GOP is”

Mace’s comments were swiftly criticized online, with comments like, “This is who the GOP is. They don’t care how much suffering they cause. None of this is an accident. Cruelty is the point.”

Another added, “Nancy Mace’s gleeful endorsement of ICE’s courthouse ambushes on undocumented immigrants exposes her as a hypocritical opportunist who prioritizes performative cruelty over constitutional due process and American values of fairness.”

Governor Mace, coming soon?

Meanwhile, former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh, a Trump critic, suggested in his post responding to what Mace said she may be pitching herself for her next job: Governor of South Carolina.

Walsh wrote in part, “The entire Republican Party base gets off on this cruelty. @NancyMace is running for Governor in SC. She knows who she’s talking to.”So, is Mace running? The day after she appeared on Fox Report Weekend, she pinned a post to her X feed, “Big things ahead. Are you ready?” with an image promising a “special announcement” coming soon.

In early 2025, Mace told the Associated Press she was “seriously considering” a statewide run for governor in 2026 and expected to decide by late winter or early spring of that year. As of July 28, 2025, she has reiterated that she plans to make a final decision “in the coming days,” citing a desire to prevent South Carolina from becoming “woke” and indicating a possible two-person race with Attorney General Alan Wilson.

If she decides to enter, Mace would join a crowded Republican primary in a deeply red state. Declared candidates already include Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, Attorney General Alan Wilson, and state senator Josh Kimbrell.
