A handout photo provided by Dong-A Ilbo of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump inside the demilitarized zone (DMZ) separating the South and North Korea on June 30, 2019 in Panmunjom, South Korea. U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un briefly met at the Korean demilitarized zone (DMZ) on Sunday, with an intention to revitalize stalled nuclear talks and demonstrate the friendship between both countries. The encounter was the third time Trump and Kim have gotten together in person as both leaders have said they are committed to the "complete denuclearization" of the Korean peninsula. Donald Trump approves of Kim Jong-Un calling Joe Biden ‘mentally retarded’, doesn’t realize he was the one being insulted

Too dumb to even know he was being mocked.

Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un are strangely similar. Both men were born into luxury, both demand absolute obedience from their subordinates, both are eager to launch missiles at their enemies, and both believe that they have an absolute right to rule over their puny citizens.

Even so, Trump’s comments yesterday at a typically unhinged press conference have once again (by which I mean for the seventh or eighth time that day) raised the prospects of 25th Amendmenting this confused and dangerous lunatic out of power and into a nursing home:

Trump was busy bemoaning the United States’ traditional allies for recognizing that his war with Iran is not only illegal, but is inevitably going to descend into a bloody quagmire they want absolutely no part of:

“Think of it… It’s not just NATO. Y’know who else didn’t help us? South Korea didn’t help us! Y’know who else didn’t help us? Australia didn’t help us! Y’know who else didn’t help us? Japan! We got 50,000 soldiers in Japan to protect them from North Korea. We have 45,000 soldiers in South Korea to protect us from Kim Jong Un, who I get along with very well as you know.”

Uh, Mr President, those bases are kind of important strategically….

Oh, okay, I guess just dismantle the American sphere of military influence altogether then? It is, perhaps, telling that Trump has absolutely no idea that American troops being safely stationed in the Pacific is a huge benefit to him, not some kind-hearted charitable exercise to help Japan!

Anyhow, Trump proceeded to happily explain that Glorious Leader Kim Jong-Un thought Joe Biden is “retarded”:

“Do you notice he said very nice things about me? He used to call Joe Biden a “mentally retarded person”, okay? So don’t tell me about… your stuff. Joe Biden he said he was a “mentally retarded person”, he was so nasty to Joe Biden it was terrible, but to me he likes Trump. And you notice how nice things are North Korea it’s very nice.”

I suppose the nuclear-armed communist dictatorship that’s constantly threatening America’s key allies, brutally represses its citizens, and is almost certainly conducting ICBM research that’ll let them target American cities is “very nice”, in a way.

But, in a darkly amusing twist, Trump is almost certainly remembering this wrong, and Kim was actually insulting him. As Kim said in 2017:

The mentally deranged behavior of the U.S. president openly expressing on the UN arena the unethical will to “totally destroy” a sovereign state, beyond the boundary of threats of regime change or overturn of social system, makes even those with normal thinking faculty think about discretion and composure. …

Action is the best option in treating the dotard who, hard of hearing, is uttering only what he wants to say. … I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged U. S. dotard with fire.

Is Trump really dumb enough to misremember Kim calling him a “mentally deranged U. S. dotard” with Kim calling Biden a “mentally retarded person”? Yes! Yes, he is!

This time, the reaction isn’t even anger, but despair at the damage one moron can do to the United States single-handedly:

“Your country for decades will be so f–ked internationally, politically, diplomatically. Just the reputation of the USA couldn’t be any worse right now. I feel terrible for those who hate what is happening and will feel and face the real consequences for a very long time.”

Oh well, let’s just hope the dotard doesn’t nuke Tehran.
