Eric Trump jumps to celebrate Trump’s minor ‘win’ in court only to be reminded of the 34 felony counts still pending

This is the only ruling in Trump's favor.

Donald Trump was arrested, faced his court trial, and pled not guilty to all the charges brought against him. The former president has been released and not put in jail, as his crimes are non-violent and he is a first-time offender. Still, his troubles are far from over as the arraignment kickstarts a legal process that could end up in a full-blown criminal trial. But his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric Trump, are busy celebrating a minor “win” their father got in court today, forgetting that it does little to erase the “surreal” fact that Trump is officially the first ex-president in U.S. history to be indicted.

While the proceedings were underway during which the indictment was unsealed to the public and Judge Juan Merchan outlined the charges of falsifying business records against Senior Trump, both brothers were busy tweeting to share the one lone thing that went in their favor — the court ruled that Stormy Daniels still owes Trump money in attorney fees for flouting the NDA she signed.

While it is definitely not good news for supporters of Ms. Daniels, it is not the mega-victory Junior and Eric seem to think it is. Daniels being asked to pay doesn’t whisk away the hush-money case against Trump, nor does it manage to make even a dent in the fact that the former POTUS still faces 34 major felony counts of falsifying business records. But the Trump brothers seemed incapable of ceasing their pointless gloating and getting their heads out of the clouds, those in the comments did their hardest to bring them back to Earth.

Some couldn’t help but hit where it would probably hit Eric most — by questioning Melania’s very glaring absence by Trump’s side.

A few have ideas about how Trump can probably put the money he will get from Daniels to good use.

More details about what went down in the court are slowly being unraveled. Apart from being charged with 34 felony counts, the Associated Press reports that Trump has also been admonished by the judge to rein in his aggressive social media messages that have the potential to “foment unrest.” Seeing that crafting such posts in all caps is a favorite pastime for the former president, it remains to be seen whether he will be taking the warning seriously.
