Donald Trump shares admittedly amusing response to Ron DeSantis’ bungled campaign announcement

Trump was not oblivious to the fact that DeSantis' Twitter announcement was a disaster.

Former president Donald Trump may not be active on Twitter but he still seems to be tuned into the activities his Republican candidate vivals are doing before the upcoming election. And asides from his “congratulatory” remarks to the Floridian governor, he also released a video that took some hefty jabs at Ron DeSantis‘ campaign announcement.

Over on Trump’s Truth social page, the former president released a video that mocked the Twitter Space announcement event. It was a showcase of multiple technical issues, jokes about the FBI, extremely questionable attendees, and general chaos reminiscent of the early days of virtual meetings during the pandemic; before DeSantis could make his official announcement. Before the Space comes to a close, Trump crashes in to announce that “the real president” is going to win the election and that DeSantis could “kiss his big 2024 presidential ass.”

Say what you want about the former president, his divisive term in office and his recent indictment, we have to begrudgingly admit this response to DeSantis’ presidential announcement was pretty funny. And this isn’t the only video that the former president released.

Trump compared DeSantis’ announcement to his own, which he broadcast live with a crowd of supporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Meanwhile, DeSantis was “a boring Twitter Space” announcement that was riddled with technical issues, with Elon Musk citing “server issues.”

Trump has a history of being in television and the media industry so he knows how to make himself look good for the upcoming presidential race. As we all know, he isn’t above making snide remarks about his opposition, so his jibe at DeSantis was to be expected. While we still consider either man a repugnant choice to lead the United States, with one being convicted of sexual abuse, and the other actively suppressing LGBTQ+ rights, we can probably expect Trump to not hold back on making fun of DeSantis until voting day.
