Donald Trump’s doctor confirms president undergoing treatment after his red rash goes viral — leaves key question unanswered

This is bad timing.

As the war in the Middle East continues to ravage the region, President Donald Trump was raising the morale of U.S. servicemen by holding a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House. It didn’t take long before a distraction dominated proceedings, as the press couldn’t stop highlighting a red rash on Trump’s neck.

Trump has been pushing back on concerns about his health since he started his second term. The first signal was the rash on his hand, followed by slight slips of the tongue and naps during recorded meetings. But the administration says that Trump’s health remains better than ever — for a man his age. Trump currently holds the record as the oldest president at a presidential inauguration.

Several political commentators on X have noticed a new rash on his neck. An account called Patriot Takes showed a little over a week’s worth of progress of Trump’s neck rash, beginning from his contentious State of the Union address to his response to the Iran war. The neck rash is no longer able to be hidden, and one user even commented, “I wonder if it’s spread to his scalp and that’s why he’s been wearing that cap non-stop.”

However, according to Newsweek, Trump’s White House doctor assured reporters that there’s nothing to worry about. Dr. Sean Barbabella sent a message to reporters recently saying, “President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment, prescribed by the White House doctor. The President is using this treatment for one week, and the redness is expected to last for a few weeks.”

That didn’t exactly satisfy White House correspondents with the explanation. CNN correspondent Alayna Treene was quick with follow-up questions, asking, “The question now is what exactly is this a preventative for? And why does the president need this treatment?” But there was little explanation as to what the neck rash means.

At a time like this, especially, the first thing people need to know without a shadow of a doubt is that there’s competency in Washington and that Trump is fully able to make decisions he can stand behind — both mentally and physically. That’s the very approach he himself used when he met Joe Biden for a debate, which ultimately set up the sequence of events that put him back in office.

Trump’s niece shared with the world via her Substack not too long ago that the president’s health is far more important to his decision-making than people might think. Mary L. Trump told Americans that the thing her uncle fears more than anything is looking like a loser. Mary wrote, “Given the perfect storm of his incompetence, increasing decline across several categories (the psychological, the cognitive, and the physical), and the sense that he is losing control — over himself and the narrative — and the desperation that goes along with that, it was perhaps inevitable that humiliation has come to stalk him at every turn.”

So if Trump is truly unwell, according to his own family, he might just be willing to do everything to show that he’s stronger than ever.
