FBI statements that Epstein did not regularly prostitute victims are falling apart as memo shows the department knew more than claimed

It’s becoming crystal clear that the official narrative surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes simply isn’t holding up. The massive release of over three million files related to the late financier suggests that a lot of other powerful men were deeply involved in his sexual abuse, which is awful news for officials who previously claimed there wasn’t enough evidence to investigate third parties.

The new documents contain specific allegations that Epstein provided victims to other men, completely contradicting prior official statements. For example, an FBI presentation included a page titled “MISCONCEPTIONS” that flatly stated, “Epstein did not regularly prostitute the victims in exchange for money.” This is a huge problem because the documents now show law enforcement was aware of evidence suggesting the exact opposite in some cases.

One prosecution memorandum, dated January 26, 2021, and signed by assistant US attorneys, detailed a chilling encounter. According to The Guardian, an accuser said that Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, told her that Epstein needed to leave the house, but a friend was staying whom she could massage. The accuser alleged that this associate offered her money for sex, and she did so. Her lawyers later showed her a photo of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, and she identified him as the man involved in that encounter.

While it isn’t clear how deeply authorities investigated these specific claims, Weinstein was never charged for any conduct connected to Epstein. However, another document, an FBI presentation created sometime after late July 2025, described a separate allegation that Epstein told an accuser to give Weinstein a massage.

During this alleged incident, the document claims Weinstein told her to take off her shirt, and when she refused, he allegedly threatened to bring women in to force her to comply. Weinstein, who is currently incarcerated after being convicted of sexual assault, vehemently rejects these misconduct claims.

His representative stated that the document cited is merely an internal prosecution memorandum recording allegations, not findings. They emphasized that Mr. Weinstein was never charged or investigated in connection with Epstein. However, it’s hard to know who is bieng honest when our Department of Justice won’t give all the details.

Weinstein isn’t the only prominent name appearing in these files. Financier Leon Black is listed on a page titled “PROMINENT NAMES” within the FBI presentation. Although the presentation doesn’t confirm authorities verified any claims against him, the document notes allegations that “Epstein told [name redacted] to give Black a massage while Black was naked.” It also stated that an accuser claimed another female gave Black a massage and he made her perform oral sex.

Black has not faced criminal charges related to Epstein, and his attorney, Susan Estrich, has strongly defended him. She stated that Mr. Black initiated an independent investigation that reviewed over 60,000 documents and interviewed more than 20 people. This investigation concluded that Black paid Epstein solely for estate planning and tax advice, and that Black had “no awareness of Epstein’s criminal activities.” Estrich added that there is “absolutely no truth to any of the allegations against Mr Black.”

Other documents show the network extended to sharing child sexual abuse images. A lawyer representing a co-executor of Epstein’s estate wrote to the FBI in April 2023 seeking guidance after encountering potential child sexual abuse images during a document review. The letter explained that the relevant video was shared with Epstein by an individual convicted of a child pornography-type offense.

Attorneys representing Epstein’s victims are clear about what these documents mean. Sigrid McCawley, an attorney who represents Epstein survivors, stated, “It is without question that a significant piece of Epstein and Maxwell’s vast sex-trafficking operation was to provide young women and girls to other wealthy and powerful individuals.” She believes this practice gave Epstein and Maxwell control and power over those who were implicated.
