Hillary Clinton just lost any moral high ground after using Epstein deposition to unleash crimes against fashion

Evidently, people asked for it. Who? Who asked for it?

Hillary Clinton has just launched a new merchandise campaign that directly references her recent congressional deposition concerning the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. This move is quite a statement, with the proceeds from these items set to benefit a progressive political organization.

Per Newsweek, Clinton announced the new drop on her social media channels, writing, “You asked and we listened.” The collection features a cap and a sweatshirt, both emblazoned with the phrase, “Hold me in contempt until the cows come home.” This particular line stems from her sworn testimony and is printed on multiple types of apparel.

The phrase itself gained widespread attention earlier this month after video of Clinton’s deposition before the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability was released. That committee has been investigating Epstein’s network of associates and how earlier federal probes into his crimes were handled. As part of this inquiry, lawmakers subpoenaed several political figures and public officials, including both Hillary and former President Bill Clinton.

I… just… why?

During her hours-long testimony, Clinton consistently denied ever meeting Epstein or having any direct interactions with him. At one point, Clinton became visibly frustrated after a photograph of the closed-door deposition had been posted online, against the rules. “I am done with this. If you guys are doing that, I am done,” Clinton said during the exchange. “You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home. This is just typical behavior.”

The new merchandise is being sold through Onward Together, a political organization Clinton founded after the 2016 presidential election. This organization focuses on supporting groups dedicated to civic engagement and democracy-related efforts. Clinton’s team has framed this merchandise as a tongue-in-cheek reference to that viral moment from the deposition, with all proceeds directly supporting progressive advocacy groups and political organizing.

This isn’t the first time Clinton’s team has released merchandise with a pointed political message through Onward Together. Back in 2024, they released a mug that read, “Turns out she was right about everything,” following a New York City jury finding President Trump guilty of concealing a hush-money payment during his 2016 campaign.

While I can understand the move to make a statement or make fun of the opposition, I personally find this rather distasteful. Mostly because of the horrifying deeds committed by Epstein and all the victims who are still waiting for justice. Also, the merch just doesn’t look good. That being said, at least this ridiculousness keeps the conversation alive.

For now, the congressional investigation into Epstein’s associates is still ongoing, and hopefully, justice will be delivered soon.
