‘I love Mexican people’: Man calls ICE on neighbors then claims it was an ‘accident’ after seeing the consequences of his actions

The man expressed his regret but his apology means nothing now that the damage has been done.

A man who called ICE on his neighbor has realized he might be a bad guy after his actions got the wife and child deported. Meanwhile, the neighbor called him out on his despicable actions and he certainly didn’t mince his words.

The heated conversation between the man and his Latino neighbor took place on a segment on 102.9 KBLX radio. Both men had called in to discuss the matter but things quickly went south as the neighbor called out the heartless man for calling ICE on his family. His actions resulted in the neighbor’s family supposedly being deported.

It seems the neighbor, who’s name is Antonio, was undertaking construction work on his home in San Francisco which seemingly irritated the man. Antonio claims, “We talked a few weeks ago, I said, ‘I’m doing a lot of work on my house right now.’ I said, ‘If I’m too late and too loud at night, I said please come talk to me and tell me.’” He accuses the man of choosing to call the police on him rather than talking to him in person.

The upset neighbor claims the man “never wanted us in this neighborhood,” and suggests he knew exactly what he was doing. Meanwhile the man tries to apologize and says that he could not have foreseen this outcome. Eventually, he does go on to admit it was a “really bad judgement call on my part.”

The man called ICE but claims he’s not racist

The man who called the authorities further tries to defend himself from Antonio’s accusations but only ends up digging himself into a bigger hole. He states, “I don’t mind you being in the neighborhood. I love Mexican people… we had a Mexican lady that cooked and cleaned for us.”

Somehow this clueless guy managed to hit all of the typical “I’m not racist” responses in one sentence. Of course, the angry neighbor isn’t exactly convinced by his argument, “There it is right there,” he says, “that is exactly what I’m talking about.”

The radio hosts then interject to try and cool things down although both express sympathies to Antonio they claim the guilt-stricken man has called in to apologize. Antonio, understandably, doesn’t accept the apology and accuses the man of being a liar.

It just goes to show perhaps people need to consider the consequences their actions might have for others. The man’s guilt means nothing now, it’s already too late. Antonio’s final statement during the segment is heartbreaking, “He’s supposed to be my neighbor, my friend, What did he do? He tore my family apart. My wife and daughter are gone now… I will never, ever let him off the hook ever.”
