ICE targeting good samaritans now as female agents fake car troubles to lure father out of home

A Minnesota man found himself being swarmed by ICE agents after stepping out of his home to help what he assumed to be two women whose car appeared to have broken down just outside his property. Footage from a neighbor’s security camera caught the moment ICE agents used underhand tactics to trick Jesus Flores.

The clip, shared by The Independent, was recorded on the 12th of February and shows a car pull up beside the curb in front of Flores’ driveway. Two women proceed to get out of the vehicle and appear to examine the front of their car before opening the hood. It would have been clear to anybody watching that the women had broken down and it seems that’s exactly what Flores assumed had happened.

The women then walk off frame, presumably to knock on Flores door and ask for help. The father of six follows the two women to the car asking, “what’s the matter?” The women respond, telling him, “It’s not starting.” Moments later two SUVs pull up and the man is swarmed by ICE agents as Flores is examining the car. While he tries to run back to his front door he is quickly apprehended and dragged into one of the vehicles before being driven away.

Jesus Flores’ family need him

It’s kind of shocking, but we shouldn’t be surprised about ICE agents lying. Following his arrest, Jesus Flores was brought into ICE custody where he currently remains. His family have set up a GoFundMe and asked for support, “Our family is going through one of the most painful and uncertain moments of our lives,” writes his son, Miguel Flores, on the donation page. 

According to the GoFundMe, Jesus has four children “who depend on him everyday.” Two of his children also have autism and his seven-year-old daughter is in need of multiple surgeries and constant ongoing care. Without their patriarch, the Flores family have been left struggling and traumatized by his arrest and incarceration.

Miguel Flores also confirmed that the two women in the video were indeed undercover ICE agents.

In a post to X, the Department of Homeland Security claims that Jesus Flores was formerly a member of a gang and that he had been removed from the U.S. twice before.

However, online, many were disgusted by the federal agency’s use of “shared humanity” to trick Flores into coming outside. The video shows that he was trying to help what he believed to be a couple of motorists with a bad engine, only to be bundled into an SUV for trying to help people pretending to be in need.
