Federal law enforcement agents confront demonstrators protesting outside of an immigration processing center on September 26, 2025 in Broadview, Illinois. The demonstrators, protesting a recent surge in ICE activity in the Chicago area, were pushed back from the facility with a barrage of "less lethal" munitions including stinger ball grenades, pepper balls, tear gas and baton rounds. ICE turn on Minnesota cops in armed standoff as they demand cop’s papers, chief confirms ‘not isolated incident’

How long before ICE kills a cop?

Politics really can make strange bedfellows. It feels like only yesterday that protesters and the Minnesota cops were locked in conflict over the murder of George Floyd. Cut to just a few years later, and both sides find themselves united against the invasion of Trump’s murderous ICE thugs into their city.

Since ICE arrived in Minnesota, they’ve harassed, victimized, gassed, and beaten residents – and have so far suffered zero consequences for the street execution of innocent mother-of-three Renee Good.

When ICE is in town, the U.S. Constitution basically doesn’t apply, with every single citizen a potential target for their sadistic brand of masked intimidation. Now, inevitably, ICE has turned on local cops.

Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley hosted a press conference to underline that, while he supports ICE’s mission, he’s deeply disturbed by their unconstitutional methods and just-plain-evil behavior. And now off-duty cops are in their sights:

“We started hearing from our police officers. … Every one of these individuals is a person of color who has had this happen to them. In Brooklyn Park, one particular officer who shared her story with was stopped as she passed ICE going down the roadway. When they boxed her in, they demanded her paperwork, of which she’s a U.S. citizen and clearly would not have any paperwork.

Paging the Thin Blue Line crowd!

He continued, underlining that the officer was forced to draw her weapon in response to ICE’s own firearms:

When she became concerned about their rhetoric and the way she was treated she pulled out her phone in an attempt to record the incident. The phone was knocked out of her hands. The officer had their guns drawn during this interaction and after the officer became so concerned they were forced to identify themselves as a Brooklyn Park police officer in the hopes or slowing the incident and deescalating the incident down.

Bruley underlined that this was by no means an isolated incident and that many other officers have been targeted by ICE – apparently purely because of the color of their skin.

If ICE carries on like this, it’s only a matter of time before somewhere in the country we see an armed stand-off between cops and ICE. The cop in this account had their weapon drawn, so what happens if some jumpy, poorly trained ICE goon sees that, freaks out, and just opens fire?

What happens then is anyone’s guess, though the Trump administration’s insistence that ICE have “federal immunity” suggests they’ll drive away scot-free as some unfortunate cop lies bleeding out in the street.

Are the many conservative “thin blue line” advocates really going to just look the other way when regular beat cops are being victimized? I mean, say what you want about local law enforcement, but compared to ICE, they’re angels.
